Description
The banknotes date to the waning days of the Hawaiian Monarchy. The original proofs are part of a unique set presented to Queen Kapiolani in the year 1883. The notes were legal currency in the Hawaiian Islands. There are fewer than fifty original notes to exist including those in the archives of the State of Hawaii the $500 certificates were all cancelled, redeemed, and destroyed. Until this proof set was discovered there was no record of the design, size, or color. If you had an original set of proofs it would be worth at least $50,000.00.
