Description
Two Cent Pieces (Year Varies). Two Cent Pieces were minted from 1864-1873. It is notable for being the first U.S. coin to feature the motto, “In God We Trust,” and also for being one of the shortest-lived U.S. coins. The most common date is 1864, which was the coin’s first year of mintage. Nearly 20 million Two Cent Pieces were produced in 1864. There are two types of Two Cent Pieces: the large motto, and the small motto, which is less common. All were produced at the Philadelphia Mint. Please call or visit our showroom for availability.
