The coin’s reverse design portrays one of Australia’s best-loved marsupials sitting astride a branch in a eucalyptus tree. The design includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KOALA’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the weight and fineness, and the 2019 year-date.
The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination are depicted on the coin’s obverse.
