“Olympic Spirit” was issued in 2009. It is the 8th in a series of 9 colored gold coins minted between 2007-2009 to commemorate the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. It depicts the fire of sport that lives within Olympic athletes as they strive to be the strongest and brightest in the world. The obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Inukshuk, the official symbol of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The Inukshuk is a traditional northern greeting of warmth and friendship.
