The Flying Eagle Cent was minted from 1856-1858, and is notable for being the first small-size U.S. cent. The obverse features a flying eagle surround on the top half by the words “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, while the reverse features the words “ONE CENT” surrounded by a wreath.
